Beans Seal Trips

When visiting North Norfolk make the time to take a boat trip to see the seals and birds in their natural environment at Blakeney Point. Beans Seal Trips are a family run business and have been taking people out for over 50 years they make a very popular and safe way to enjoy a close up view without disturbance.

They run every day from Morston Quay throughout the season (April until end October) and also regularly throughout the winter. Departure times change daily, please phone, email or visit the website for more details. One of five purpose built ferries which are fully licensed & hold full safety equipment take you safely into Blakeney harbour,  (they don’t go out to the open sea) The boats get very close to the seals and there is ample time to take photographs.

The knowledgeable crew are happy to answer any questions, there is also a good opportunity to do a spot of birdwatching.

The seal colony is made up of common & grey seals & numbers are around 500 so we can guarantee you will always see some, (or your money back) The common seals pup between June & August, & the grey between October & December.

After seeing the seals you can land on Blakeney Point nature reserve when possible depending on the tidal & weather conditions. The National Trust took over the point in 1912, & is an international breeding ground for migrant birds e.g., common ,sandwich & arctic terns.

You may like to have a look at these birds from one of the hides located at prime sites or take a stroll upto the Old Lifeboat House which is now an information centre.

Seal Trip on its own lasts approx. one hour time spent on Blakeney Point is added to this usually half an hour to one hour depending on the tide
